Hoda Kotb Says Going Wine-Free On 'Today' Was 'The Worst Decision We Have Ever Made' (VIDEO)

Hoda Kotb Regrets Vow To Go Wine-Free On 'Today'

The fourth hour of "Today" with no booze is almost impossible to imagine. Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb have turned it into the wine hour for so long now that it's become expected. Nevertheless, the pair made a resolution to go wine-free for a solid month as part of a pledge to Ladies Home Journal, which has proved a challenge. Kotb talked about it on "Late Night."

"It’s the worst decision we have ever made," she lamented. Kotb went on to admit that the show just isn't as fun without the booze.

"Our guests are used to having a little beverage," she said. "It’s a little weird."

Viewers are used to it as well, with the Huffington Post saying the wine has become as important to the hour as Gifford and Kotb themselves. The good news for the women and their fans is that the wine will start flowing again after the month is up.

Tune in to the fourth hour of "Today," starting at 10 a.m. EST every weekday on NBC. Then come back for "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. EST.
